MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) Wednesday evenings start 17 Jan 2018

For Stress, anxiety, depression, worry, sleep and life difficulties.

Mindfulness will help you gain more meaning, value, purpose and joy in your life.

Our Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) 8 week course follows the Oxford evidenced based training to prevent depressive relapse.

Mindfulness is designed to help you handle difficult thoughts, feelings and moods by learning to respond rather than react to life's difficulties.

You will learn the core skill of 'mindfulness' - a way of of being present in body, mind and the world around you. This enables you to cultivate and increase awareness and offers potential for positive changes in your life.

This course is not for people who are currently depressed.

Pippa O'Connor is a psychotherapist (BSc, MSc: CERT Dip) and senior lecturer in the Mindfulness Based Clinical Applications at the North London Hospital Southgate. She is a Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness teacher at Tavistock Hospital and has a BSC in Cognitive Behavior, Addiction and Trauma / DIP Trauma / EMDR.

What the Buddha taught: Intro to Buddhism and Meditation (start Mon 22 Jan 2018)

The 4 weeks course aims to explore what the Buddha taught some 2500 years ago. Using the teaching of the 3 fold way - Ethics, Meditation and Wisdom, we will explore his teaching and ask if it has relevance to our lives today.

Who is the Buddha? Introductory Buddhism Course (start Tue 23 Jan 2018)

Satyanathin will give an introduction to the historical Buddha and explore the symbolism of the archetypal events and characters in his journey towards to Enlightenment. The course explores how this ancient story is relevant to our lives in the twenty first century.

Suitable for those new to Buddhism who have learnt our meditation practices and those who wish to find out more about the Buddha.

The evening starts with a meditation practice.

MBCT (Mindfulness for Healthy Living) Thursday evenings starts 25 Jan 2018

Nine Thursday evenings, including orientation session, plus a practice day, with Lokadhi Lloyd, MA, PGDip (Mindfulness), PGDip (Psychosynthesis), BACP. The course follows the NICE-approved MBCT model and is held in a warm, relaxed setting that combines structure, informality and the highest professional standards.

For anyone wishing to enhance the quality of their life through deepening awareness of unhelpful patterns of body and mind. Develop skills to manage the ups and downs of everyday life as well as anxiety, depression, addictive behaviours, stress, chronic illness and pain. Suitable for those who are susceptible to depression but who are not actively depressed.
