Spring Equinox with Puja (Sat 21 Mar 2020)

We will celebrate the Equinox with meditation, chanting and puja. The suggestion is to bring seeds - actual or conceptual - to be blessed as part of the puja.

The word blessing comes from the Old English blædsian meaning to make sacred, so we'll bring our 'seeds' whether they are flowers for the garden or intentions for our life to make them sacred so that as they take root and grow into our life they do so with our best intentions.

The Spring Equinox was celebrated as Ostara in pagan times with it's associations with the rebirth of the year and with fertility. It is a time of preparation for farmers and the tradition of bringing their seeds for blessing.

This introductory workshop will take you through the basics of focusing and provide you with the tools to begin your own focusing practice. The atmosphere will be relaxed and engaged – similar to being on retreat.

Opening the Gates of the Senses - Weekend Retreat with the West London Buddhist Centre Sangha (Fri 3. - Sun 5. July 2020)

Going on retreat is one of the most powerful of Buddhist practices – taking time and space, surrounded by nature, to let go of the pressures of daily life and allow the mind naturally to relax and open. There’ll be a simple programme of meditation, study/discussion groups and devotional practice, with plenty of time to do nothing, go for walks or hang out together.

Our retreat location is in the beautiful and highly supportive conditions of Vajrasana, an award winning purpose built Buddhist retreat centre in the midst of the Suffolk countryside, easily accessible from London.
