BAM! Sangha Nights in June

This month our Sangha Nights will be themed on Buddhist Action Month. The evenings will be as follows:

  • Mon 4 June: Opening Ceremony led by Satyapurna. Ending with a ritual dedicated to Amoghasiddhi, the Buddha of action.

  • Mon 11 June: Sanghasiha on Deep Ecology. Exploring our relationship with the natural world as Buddhists.

  • Mon 18 June: Akashamitra on Karuna, a Triratna charity. Images and stories from Karuna’s work in India and Nepal, changing discrimination into dignity.

  • Mon 25 June: Closing Ceremony. Ending with a ritual.

    Creative Vinyasa Flow

    Gentle to moderately-paced session that builds up to a fluid flow style. Students move through a creative and imaginative sequence of postures, interspersed with strength-building and sometimes challenging holds. The class winds down with an indulgent 10-minute guided relaxation and savasana.

    Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to more experienced students.

    Introductory Meditation Evening Drop-in

    The Tuesday night class is one of our most popular weekly events. We introduce two core meditation practices: the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana (loving kindness) practices.

    Meditation Toolkit for Regular Meditators

    Our meditation toolkit explores strategies for taking our meditation practice further. Suitable for anyone who has already learned the two basic practices and wants to go deeper.

    Hatha Flow

    Soothing and relaxing sequence of hatha yoga poses linking movements with the breath. This flowing sequence brings balance and joy to the body.

    Iyengar Yoga

    The Iyengar method, a highly regarded form of yoga, places special focus on developing strength, endurance and correct body alignment in addition to flexibility and relaxation. Classes are sequenced, emphasise precision and include a variety of poses from standing and sitting, forward and back bends, supine balances, inversions and relaxation. Classes are designed to focus on different aspects of the practice promoting overall well-being. Regular practice is energising and promotes excellent body awareness. It helps you feel refreshed and develops your flexibility, strength and improves concentration. A yoga practice for anyone and everyone!!

    Gentle Vinyasa Flow Yoga

    An inspiring and softly flowing yoga that mindfully integrates hatha postures with the breath. The class focuses on lengthening, strengthening and stretching to relax the body and balance the mind. Drawing on the precision of Iyengar, energy of Asthanga and the creativity of Shiva Rea's Prana Flow, each session will combine elements of these yogic practices to develop strength, flexibility and stamina. Designed for all levels of experience, we'll finish with a luxurious period of shavasana (corpse pose) to form a deeply restful conclusion to the day.

    The Alternative Friday Night (Sub35)

    Are you between 18 and 35 and looking for something new to do on a Friday night? Are you sick of doing the usual thing, or just fancy doing something different?

    Come along to meditate, explore the teachings of Buddhism and connect with like-minded people. Our monthly evening will be a radical approach to Friday night!
