Sub35 weekend at Redfields

It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to meditation and Buddhism, or have lots of experience, this retreat is a chance to escape the noise and complexity of modern life, to deepen your experience of yourself and of the world around you.

There will be periods of meditation, talks on aspects of Buddhism and simple rituals as well as free time for rest and walks in the countryside. There will also be small groups led by a team member in which you can discuss your experience of the weekend. Living communally is an important aspect of being on retreat and you’ll be sharing rooms and meals with others, as well as practising together in the shrine room.

Some Practical Infomation

The weekend starts with dinner on the Friday at 7pm (you’re welcome to arrive from 5.30pm) and ends at 3pm on the Sunday.

During the retreat we’ll ask you to turn off you’re phones, so in case of emergencies you may inform your family and friends that they can contact the centre on 07988671797.

We serve three tasty vegan meals a day. If you have dietary restrictions many of these can be accommodated if you let us know when you book - you can read more information here.

Our retreats feature periods of silence and the challenge of engaging with our minds, our habits and the big questions of life and death. Although it is a very supportive environment, we cannot offer any therapeutic help, so if you’re currently experiencing mental health difficulties, please consider if a retreat is right for you at this time.

Location & Travel

  • Address: Redfield, Buckingham Road, Winslow, Buckinghamshire MK18 3LZ

  • Important approach note: “Please note that contrary to Google Maps there is no access to the Redfield Centre from the Great Horwood Road. You should approach from the driveway on the A413, directly opposite the new School and Furze Lane.”

By car (from London)

  1. From Central London, take the motorway network toward the M1 (northbound) or A41/A418 depending on your starting point.

  2. If using the M1: take the M1 north towards Milton Keynes / Birmingham.

  3. Exit the M1 around Milton Keynes area (for example Junction 14 or 13, depending on traffic).

  4. From Milton Keynes area, head toward Winslow via main roads: e.g., take the A413 from Newport Pagnell / Buckingham direction.

  5. On the A413, look for the driveway to “Redfield, Buckingham Road, Winslow MK18 3LZ” opposite the new school & Furze Lane. (Because access from Great Horwood Road is not possible.)

  6. Park in the designated area of the Centre.

Estimated travel time: about 1 hour from London in good traffic.

By public transport

  1. From London, take a train to Milton Keynes Central station.

  2. From Milton Keynes, you may need to take a bus or taxi toward Winslow. For example, the X60 bus runs from Milton Keynes station and stops at/near the venue.

  3. On reaching “Winslow; Buckingham Road” or nearest stop, walk/arrange a short transfer to the Redfield Centre driveway.

Things to check/consider

  • Because the approach road is specific (via A413) and the alternative road is inaccessible, ensure your GPS or map app uses the correct access route.

  • If travelling in peak traffic times (morning out of London or evening return) allow extra time.

  • If coming by train + bus, check bus schedule in advance, especially on weekends or holidays.

  • If arriving after dark, ensure you’ve got clear directions for the driveway — it may be less well lit.

  • Parking: the site allows car parking; check with the venue if you have multiple vehicles.
