Join us for a special Sangha Soirée as part of our urban retreat. Our founder, Urgyen Sangharakshita, envisioned Buddhist centers as more than just places for meditation and study. He saw them as social hubs for friendship and culture, and this evening is a celebration of that vision.
Come at 6pm to share a meal of a simple curry and rice (do bring along something to share alongside it). At 7pm we’ll then meditate together, before moving into a vibrant musical soirée featuring musicians from the Sangha:
Chintamani & Maitrishura on guitar & accordion
Ratnaprabha on vocals
Will on guitar and vocals
Sumana on banjo and vocals
Bodhamayi on flute
Michelle on guitar and vocals
Ian on flute and vocals
This event will also act as a fundraiser for Future Dharma. Their grants have been crucial for initiatives like rewriting the Mitra study course, translating Dharma texts into numerous languages (including Albanian, Polish, and Japanese), establishing new Buddhist centers worldwide (such as in Warsaw, Tokyo, and Mexico), making Free Buddhist Audio mobile friendly, and funding the men's and women's ordination teams in India.
Come along to share a warm meal, meditate, meet others and enjoy beautiful music, all for a great cause.
