Centenary Season

Triratna was founded by Urgyen Sangharakshita, who was born 26th August 1925, so in 2025 we're marking his 100th birth anniversary.

All centenary events are by donation, just turn up.

Centenary Festival Day
Sun 10 Aug | 11am - 4pm
Although we no longer have the opportunity to meet Sangharakshita in person, we can still get to know him. On this celebratory day, we’ll encounter the man behind the teachings through excerpts from his memoirs, explorations of his poetry, reflective meditations, and stories from those who knew him personally.

Led by Ksantikara, with special guests

Film Night: Great Ocean - Abiding
Wed 23 Jul | 6.45 - 9.30pm

A special screening of the final part of Suryaprabha's film series exploring the ‘the strange and wonderful life of Sangharakshita’ through the story of his life and the accounts of his friends.

Having a Teacher: Joys & Difficulties
Sat 2 Aug | 1.15pm - 3.30pm
Looking up to those with more experience opens our heart to gratitude and respect but we also need to cultivate mature and balanced relationships with our ‘teachers’. This event includes space to consider controversies and mistakes in Triratna’s early history.

Led by Ratnapraha, Karunagita & Darsavini

Birth Anniversary Celebration
Tue 26 Aug | 7.15 - 9.30pm
Join us for the first of 108 annual pujas and a chance to be part of a ritual that will conclude long after your (current) lifetime! There will be a guestbook, cake and symposium of short personal talks.

Led by Ksantikara.
