Saturday Morning Meditation and Buddhism Drop-in class

We start with meditation at 10:15. After the tea break, you can continue to explore meditation, or alternatively you can join the Buddhism option. Our theme for the New Year is the five spiritual faculties: mindfulness, confidence, energy, unification of mind, and insight. The second Saturday of each month there is a talk on one of these themes (click here), and on the other Saturdays we get together to discuss the practical implications of these fundamental Buddhist teachings. All are welcome, and you don't need to come each week.

'The gates of the senses' - Buddhist weekend retreat

Our windows onto the world are our senses -- sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste, to which Buddhism adds the mind sense. The mind receives memories, images, imaginings and ideas. Mindfulness of sense experience can be delightful, and it is an excellent antidote to busy, insistent thinking.

Ratnaprabha will lead a spring country weekend retreat tuning in to our sense experience in meditation and practical workshops

All who know meditation are welcome to come; accommodation and vegetarian food (we share the cooking) are provided.

The retreat will be held at Redfield Retreat Centre in Buckinghamshire.

Spring into Action - A Working Day Retreat (Mon 6 May - 1st Bank Holiday)

You are warmly invited to a mindful and companionable practice day. We will be meditating and working together throughout the day.

You can come for the full day or arrive at 10.00 for the morning session, or between 13.00-14.00 for the afternoon session. Sitting down work available.

Are you curious about Buddhism and Meditation?

This 6 week course will introduce the Buddha, his teaching (Dharma) and the followers of his teaching (Sangha). We will focus on the historical Buddha including key stories about his life and enlightenment as well as exploring Buddhist practice - the Buddhist path laid out in his teaching.

The course is open to all and will include space for questions and discussion.

We will also explore the 'Mindfulness of Breathing' and the 'Metta Bhavana' meditation practices.
