Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, also known as Shakyamuni (sage of the Shakya clan) was born around the 5th century BC during a time of revival and rejuvenation of mystical and religious thought.

This six-week course will explore the life of the Buddha, the experiences which led him to enlightenment, what enlightenment might be and stories of his life and 60 years of teaching after his enlightenment. The course will offer an opportunity to learn and discuss what relevance Buddhist practise might have for us in our life today.

Most importantly we will explore what this has to do with us and how we might understand our own spiritual journey, by understanding his a little more.

Each week will involve some meditation and an exploration of key aspects of the Buddha’s teachings on how to live a richer, more contented, more positive life. The course builds on our introductory course, deepening your knowledge and experience.

All our courses are led by experienced meditators who are ordained Buddhists.
