ONLINE: Sangha Night What is Dharma-worship| Led by Santva

The Sangha Night team look forward to welcoming you twice a month; once on zoom (7.00-9.00) and, we hope, once in-person (7.00-9.30). The dates will generally be the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Check the website near to the time.

The Sangha is the Buddhist term for the community of people wishing to learn from the Buddha's teachings. Lalitaraja, Santva, Manjumitra, Khemananda and guest Order Members take turns to lead these evenings, practising and communicating Buddhism. A Sangha evening might include a talk, meditation, discussion, workshop, devotional practice. Open to all (though it is helpful if you have had an introduction to the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana meditation practices).

With so much information now available to us, what criteria can we use to recognise the teaching that will help us to make real spiritual progress?

We'll look at 'The Four Great Reliances' explained by Sangharakshita in

In his commentary on The Vimalakirti Nirdesa.

1. One should rely on the Dharma, not on any person.

2. One should rely on the meaning, not the expression.

3. One should rely on the discourses of explicit meaning, not on the discourses of implicit meaning.

4. One should rely on transcendental awareness, not on discriminative consciousness.

There will also be meditation and discussion.

The Sangha Night team is looking forward to welcoming you.
